CBW Community Bank Survey Summary
More than half (52.5 percent) of com-
munity bank respondents nationally expect
to experience asset growth in 2014, with
54.3 percent of Chicago District respondents
and 42.1 percent of Minneapolis Districts
agreeing.
About two thirds of community bank
respondents nationally expect loan growth
this year, compared to 71.1 percent in the
Minneapolis District and 58.0 percent of
respondents in the Chicago District.
More than half (51.7 percent) of respon-
dents nationally identified the current
regulatory requirements as an obstacle to
loan growth, as did 41.7 percent of Chicago
District respondents and 40.0 percent of
Minneapolis District respondents.
Chicago and Minneapolis District respon-
dents also differed on their expectations for
deposit growth, with 43.2 percent Chicago
District respondents expecting growth in
core deposits, compared to 18.4 percent of
Minneapolis District respondents.
