What is CBWPAC?
CBWPAC is the non-partisan political action committee of the Community Bankers of Wisconsin. CBWPAC is the only state PAC dedicated exclusively to representing the Wisconsin community banking industry. The objective of CBWPAC is to support the election of procommunity banking candidates. The CBWPAC is an essential part of our industry advocacy efforts by raising personal, voluntary contributions from association members.
What is the Coalition for Community Banking?
The Coalition for Community Banking (CFCB) is the non-partisan registered conduit fund of the Community Bankers of Wisconsin. CFCB is the only state conduit fund dedicated exclusively to representing the Wisconsin community banking industry. The CFCB allows individuals to direct contributions to candidates you select. Candidates who receive CFCB funds report them as a contribution from you the individual. At the same time the CBW, acting as a conduit for your contribution, receives credit that supports our advocacy efforts.
Can I contribute to more than one PAC and conduit fund?
YES! Both the CBWPAC and the CFCB are registered with the Government Accountability Board. Under state rules individuals can contribute to more than one state PAC or state conduit fund. An individual is also free to contribute to both the CBWPAC and the CFCB. Since the CBWPAC and CFCB are organized under state rules there is no requirement to sign a solicitation authorization that is required under the Federal Election Commission rules for federal PACs.
Why should I contribute?
A contribution to CBWPAC and the CFCB is an investment in the future of community banking. As community bankers, we must work hard to have our voice heard. Your contribution to CBWPAC and the CFCB allows you to join together with other community bankers from across Wisconsin to ensure that our industry influences legislation of importance to our future.
