Community Bankers
of Wisconsin in affiliation with PULSE, have developed
a statewide non-surcharge automated teller machine (ATM) network for
customers of participating Wisconsin community banks.
The name of this
network is "ATM Acce$$. The development of "ATM Acce$$"
does not replace the PULSE network. "ATM Acce$$"
can be considered a "network within a network". "ATM
Acce$$" is the name of the network with "ACCESS"
being an acronym for Access Cash Conveniently Eliminating
Surcharges Statewide.
Since the introduction
of the ATM, consumers have come to depend on the convenience of withdrawing
cash, making deposits or verifying account balances 24-hours a day,
seven days a week. Since the national ATM networks lifted the prohibition
on ATM surcharges, the number of ATMs imposing surcharges has dramatically
increased. In response to the growing trend of surcharges, Community
Bankers of Wisconsin developed a non-surcharge network.
Community banks
are committed to serving the financial needs of Wisconsin consumers.
